About Dr. SueRecipes speak for themselves. But that’s only after you’ve tried them. Another way to test recipes without a test kitchen is to decide if you trust the author. I learned this from Not For Noshers Only, the cookbook published by Sisterhood from Congregation Beth Israel, Lebanon, Pennsylvania. The women collected favorite recipes - Thelma, Goldie, Sussie, my Mom, Edith, and her best friend, Jean.I knew some of these women. Some I trusted and others, no way! I knew whose recipes had a good chance of being edible, and others I put in the discard pile before even trying them. Most of my discards were based on my snap judgments of the people and thus their cooking, although I also eliminated all recipes that called for Cherry Pie Filling. So if you want to read my recipes, and better yet, cook them for your family and friends, you might want to know a bit about Dr. Sue.
Dr. Sue’s Bio Dr Sue lives in Alameda, California. She really is a doctor, a doctor of education, with an Ed.D. from Vanderbilt University from the department of Leadership, Policy, and Organizations. She earns her living as an educational consultant as President of Topaz Canyon Group, LLC , as an adjunct professor for Vanderbilt’s San Francisco Internship Program in the Department of Human and Organizational Development and as an author (Speak the Language of Healing). Mr. Dr. Sue's Bio Long before the days of artisinal bread Mr. Dr. Sue, by a set of serendipitous circumstances, became the business manager of a troubled whole grain bakery. Analyzing the operation he discovered the main problem was the bread tasted terrible. Fortunately Dr. Sue was a terrific baker and she taught Mr. Dr. Sue how to bake wonderful breads, pies, and cookies. Today he is content to have Dr. Sue do the baking and cooking while he tends to the web site. |
